Summer 2016 Salem State University Music Department Northeast Jazz and Recording Camp

Camp dates are July 10-15, 2016. Check-in will be on Sunday, July 10 at 5 pm. Check-out will be the evening of Friday July 15 following the 7 pm closing performance in the Recital Hall.


Deadline for registration is June 29, 2016.

The camp fee is $500 for day-only students and $625 for overnight students. Fee includes all course materials as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. Register by April 29 and receive a $25 discount. Contact us for information regarding family discounts for multiple camp attendees from the same family.

This year we are again offering a recording-only track for students who are interested in an intensive week of recording and technology instruction. Students who select this track will have limited time in performance ensembles. Students who wish to pursue a jazz-based course of study should not select this option. 

Please be sure to complete all requested information. Registration valid upon receipt of payment in full. Partial payments not accepted. 

Deadline for payment is July 5, 2016.

Please note: A limited number of scholarships based on need and ability level are available. Interested students should submit an MP3 of a performance of no more than five minutes to Tom Palance at by June 1, 2016.

There will be a cookout and audition immediately following registration at 6 pm.
All campers are invited to attend the cookout and audition.

Free time 2:30-3:30
Classes and ensembles 3:30-5
Dinner 5-6
Evening activities 6-9

Day campers are invited to attend all evening activities. 

Final Performance

There will be a final performance Friday, July 15 at 7 pm.
