Yasmeen Kouki '11, Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting
“State offers an excellent education at a much lower cost than other schools. After visiting the campus and speaking with some of the professors here, there was a feeling of genuine sincerity from the professors and that they truly care about each student’s individual success in this institution, so I knew I would do well if I came here.
The professors really know their material, and it shows in the classroom as they pass their knowledge on to the students. Most of the professors have a fair amount of real work experience in their field, so they can relate the concepts to real life, which helps to understand them better. The advising here is extremely useful in helping students get on a track towards graduation that works with their schedule. Overall, my academic experience at Salem State has been extremely positive because of the professors and how they take the time to help students succeed. I know that when I graduate, I will leave with the knowledge necessary to do well in the accounting field.
Once I graduate from Salem State with my bachelor’s degree in business administration, I hope to get CPA certified and get a job working at one of the big accounting firms near Boston. After gaining some experience, I would like to get my master's degree in business administration, and, ultimately, one day I hope to have my own CPA firm.”
