Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Spanish - Curriculum
The MAT in Spanish offers four possible programs of study: initial level elementary and secondary, and professional level elementary and secondary.
The curriculum consists of 18 credits of licensure courses and 18 credits of Spanish courses. The licensure courses for all four programs involve education courses, a methods course, and the practicum (for initial licensure) or the clinical (for professional licensure). The 18 credits in Spanish are the same for all programs.
The program ends with a capstone thesis in Spanish, which can be presented at Graduate Research Day and at conferences.
