Phi Sigma Iota: The International Foreign Language Honor Society

The foreign languages department joined Phi Sigma Iota, an international honor society, in 2010. Our first group of honor society members were inducted in spring 2010. These include undergraduate majors and minors, graduate students in Spanish, and faculty members. New members are recruited by invitation from faculty based on exceptional academic achievement in foreign language study.

Check out the Phi Sigma Iota website for information about membership benefits, career opportunities and scholarships for students studying Foreign Languages:

You will also find more information about Phi Sigma Iota at SSU in this article by Dr. Doll and Dr. Rocca in the spring 2010 issue of Lingua Franca.
