Kayla Bishop '12, major: math and secondary education; minor: English
"Salem State has proven itself to be the most valuable education I could have asked for. I love being known by name and not my student ID number.
I have had a fun, interesting and often intense academic experience thus far. As an aspiring teacher, I admire the adults and students I learn from and with. The long nights of studying in the library with friends create some of the most memorable and proud moments of each semester.
I’d like to work independently and make some sort of major breakthrough in the mathematical world. More realistically, I hope to share my mathematics fascination with high school students and show them that math class can be painless and even fun. I know that even as a teacher, I will never stop learning, and that is exactly what I want.
I have been so excited to involve myself in so many different communities at Salem State. The camaraderie of the students and professors in the math lab, the support from my fellow honors students or the dedication of fellow Red Skies staff members never ceases to amaze me."
