MAP-Works® is Here!

MAP-Works®, Making Achievement Possible, empowers faculty and staff to positively impact student success and retention by identifying at-risk students early in the term. It efficiently and effectively provides faculty and staff the information they need to identify and coordinate interventions with at-risk students.

You will be able log into your MAP-Works account and create a note regarding the student of concern. That note will then be sent to that student's Direct Connects within the system to then make intentional contact with that student.

The Salem State Student Success Initiative (SSI) is designed to connect students at the university with both academic and non-academic advice and guidance in a timely and appropriate manner.

The SSI form can be used to alert the advising office, which will act as a single clearinghouse and will consult with other offices as necessary.

Any Salem State University faculty member, administrator or staff member may initiate a referral. Students are also encouraged to self-report if they wish to do so.

In an emergency, contact campus police at 978.542.6111. If a situation possibly concerning the physical or mental health of a students is urgent but not an emergency, contact the dean of students (978.542.6401) or counseling and health services (978.542.6410) for consultation on how to proceed.

All reports will be handled with discretion and are shared only with the fewest number of people possible to ensure timely and appropriate assistance.

Once you have submitted this form, a representative from the advising office will contact the student directly and/or refer the matter to the appropriate contact person in another office. Your name may be shared with the student as the person who has initiated the contact if appropriate.

You will be notified via email or phone regarding our follow up with your student matter.
