Transportation
Trains:
The Newburyport/Rockport line commuter train runs between Salem and Boston. The ride is approximately 30 minutes each way. The Salem train station is located at the intersection of Washington and Bridge Streets. You can buy your train tickets at the train station or on the train. Tickets purchased on the train usually cost more.
Buses:
Bus #455, #455W, and #459 run in front of Salem State College at Loring Avenue and go all the way to Boston. These buses go from the Salem train station to Boston. There are different rates depending on your destination. You can either pay cash or use the Plastic Charlie Card.
