This course will focus on the practical analysis of legislation, regulations and case law relating to the education of students with disabilities. Topics will include the current Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and Section 504 regulations; eligibility categories and cases; least restrictive environment and inclusion issues; IEP issues, including related services and assistive technology; discipline, including Functional Behavior Assessments and Manifestation Determination; and compensatory education.
This class has minimum technical requirements.
