Orientation Programs
Orientation
Before the semester begins, you are invited to an Orientation program designed to prepare you for your first semester at Salem State College. This is an outstanding opportunity to receive lots of valuable information that will help to ease the transition of your upcoming academic journey.
- Adult Learner Orientation is a one-day program for new first year DAY students age 23 and older.
- Evening Student Orientation is a one-night program for new first year and transfer Continuing Education (EVENING) students.
Testing
In addition to Orientation, all first-year students must participate in a Testing program to determine skill development needs, competency levels and exemption from courses. Test results do not affect the condition of your acceptance; they assist us in placing you into the appropriate courses and defining the appropriate support services to allow you to develop your full academic potential.
