The snow guide (PDF) informs Salem State University employees; day, evening and resident students; and City of Salem residents (South Salem) of the university’s policy and procedures regarding inclement weather operations. The snow guide directs the university community to the various media used to provide the most up to date information on university closings and/or delays and parking procedures.
Delayed Opening Policy
For instances where the university announces a ‘Delayed Opening’ or ‘Two Hour Delay’ due to inclement weather or other issues, the university has designated 10:30 am as the standard time for the start of both day classes and the work day for employees. This does not apply to those designated as ‘Essential Personnel’, who are to report at their regular, established time during this event.
