Statement Online - Summer 2009
During its annual alumni weekend activities, Salem State paid tribute to 86 of its alumni who have served in the armed services from World War II through the wars in Korea, Vietnam and Iraq. Students enrolled in the college's ROTC program performed a moving POW/MIA ceremony prior to dinner, setting places at an empty table for members of each service branch still missing or held captive. Salem State theater students also staged two USO-style performances by Whirled Peas Productions, a New York-based theater troupe comprised of Salem State alumni.
