Virex

Virex Information

• Virex v8.6 for Mac OSX [ZIP 21.7MB]
• DAT File for Virex Version 7 or 8 [GZ 17MB]

Install Virex

• Click Virex v8.6 for Mac OSX link above
• Select open with Stuffit expander or similar application, click OK & wait for Stuffit to expand file
  • Double click extracted folder (should be labeled VSM86LM or something similar)
  • Double click VirusScan 8.6.dmg file
  • Double click VirusScan.pkg file (looks like an open box)
• VirusScan installer opens
  • Select continue, follow directions & agree to the terms and conditions
  • Select Macintosh HD to install & click continue
  • Click upgrade or install to continue
• You will be prompted to type in your computers password & click OK
• You will get message saying your software was successfully installed and then click close
• To finish, delete zip file, extracted folder & eject disk image of VirusScan 8.6

Using Virex

• Open Finder & click on Applications folder
• Double click on VirusScan to open program
• To run VirusScan:
  • Make sure scan & clean is selected
  • Drag items from desktop or other folder (i.e. Mac HD) to box labeled "drop items or click here" and click start.
• To update:
  • Select eUpdate at bottom & click start
