Salem State inducts 17 into Gamma Theta Upsilon
International Geography Honor Society recognizes those with strong academic credentials
At its annual Geography Awards Dinner and Gamma Theta Upsilon induction ceremony, held April 17, 2009, at the college, Salem State inducted 17 new members into the international geography honor society. Founded in 1928, the organization supports both awareness and knowledge of geography through chapter activities worldwide. Induction into Gamma Theta Epsilon is for those who meet strict academic requirements, and who have a strong background and interest in geography.
Salem State's newest inductees include Laura Cobb of Danvers; Andrea Smolinsky of Tewksbury; Leanne Manousaridis of Arlington; Brianna Semenza of Wakefield; Janet Nicosia of North Reading; Nicole Chasse of Haverhill; Moumita DuttaGupta of Dibrugaru, India; Carol Mondell of Gloucester; Tiffany Pimental and Amanda White, both of Saugus; John Raymond, Jr. of Beverly; Mary Kate DiFrancesco of Fitchburg; Evan Caten of Lowell; Sharon Fulton of Marblehead; Edward Hanley of Salem; Jamie Vaillancourt of Peabody; and Michael Patrick Waters of North Reading.
