Student Information
Blackboard/WebCT Student Accounts
Blackboard/WebCT student accounts are automatically created upon a student's enrollment in a course using Blackboard/WebCT if the faculty has chosen to use Blackboard. The students will be notified of their account information (username and temporary password) via an email to their Salem State College email account.
Faculty Information
Blackboard/WebCT Faculty (Instructor/Designer) Accounts
Faculty accounts are created via the course request process, and occur with the first Blackboard/WebCT course. A Blackboard/WebCT username and temporary password is sent to your SSC email.
Request a Blackboard/WebCT Course
Course shells must be requested. To get a course shell on Blackboard/WebCT, just login to Navigator and follow these instructions:
- Click on Faculty Home look for the box titled Academics.
- Click on 'set my classes for elearning'.
- Choose term and click on search.
- Check to the left of the title of the courses.
- Click on save. There is no visible change to the screen but it will be saved.
- Courses with check marks MUST continue to be checked or the faculty and students will be unenrolled.
The course(s) will be available the next business day.
Save your Course Template
Templates are copies of a course for use in future semesters. All material except for student work copied into the template including calendar entries and tests. Templates are not automatically created, but done on request. If no template is created, and the course content is removed the content will be permanently lost.
