A Message from Dr. Kristin G. Esterberg, Provost and Academic Vice President
Welcome to the Office of Academic Affairs.
As the Salem State community strives to achieve excellence in education, service and scholarship, it is my privilege to provide leadership in the areas of planning, operation, direction, and supervision of academic areas, programs and resources.
The strategic goal of Salem State's academic programs is to advance the intellectual and personal growth of all students through a wide spectrum of learning opportunities. To realize this, we rely upon the dedication and contributions of our superb faculty, our gifted librarians and our talented staff.
Salem State's undergraduate programs are grounded in the tradition of a strong core in the liberal arts and sciences. Additionally, we provide our students with the competencies and knowledge necessary for a variety of professional fields. The School of Graduate Studies at Salem State University prepares students professionally and challenges them academically to meet the intellectual, professional and credentialing needs of the region. By so doing, it creates well-qualified members of the regional work force who are leaders in their professions and communities. The School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Salem State features programs and services that recognize the competing responsibilities in adult learners' lives, and reflect the flexibility they need.
I invite you to visit our website often. It contains a great deal of information about our schools and programs, as well as our library and a variety of faculty development and teaching resources. We look forward to your comments as we enhance our online information resources.
