| Read about our Network Access Control (NAC) coming in Jan 2012 |
Salem State University has a new wireless network to better provide a secure wireless connection to the Internet that is faster and easier to use. It is available to all Salem State students, faculty and staff. You'll see the new wireless access points that have been installed campus-wide making faster wireless connectivity available all across the campus.
* * To report wireless connectivity issues, please send an email with the building and room along with the date and time to wireless@salemstate.edu
Users with a Windows pc/laptop must run a tool which will automatically setup the SSID with the correct security settings. This is a one-time only setup. Macintosh computers can automatically detect and configure these security settings and do not require the tool.

What Else You Need to Connect
Students
Your username is S followed by your 7 digit student ID (do not include @salemstate.edu). The password is the same password you use for Salem State email. If you forgot your password, click here to reset it. Be aware that by resetting your password, you will also be changing your Salem State email password!
Staff
Your username is normally first initial followed by last name. The password is also the same password you use for Salem State email, VPN, and possibly your office computer. If you forgot your password, please call 978.542.2036 for support. In order to change your password yourself, you must log in to Navigator, which is not accessable from here.
VPN software is no longer needed
VPN software is no longer needed to access the wireless domain. It will however, continue to be used for off-campus access. We will continue to keep the older SSC-VPN wireless network open for you as the semester begins, so that you are not rushed in getting onto the new network.
Questions can be directed to the ITS help desk at it-helpdesk@salemstate.edu or 978.542.2036.
