Scholarship
Salem State College faculty and librarians pursue continuing scholarship in many forms, including
- Contributions to the content of their discipline;
- Participation in or contributions to respective professional organizations and societies;
- Research as demonstrated by published or unpublished work (or, where applicable,
- artistic or other creative activities);
- Work toward the terminal degree or relevant post-graduate study.
Opportunities for support include
MSCA Fund for Continuing Scholarship
Full-time faculty and librarians may be eligible to apply for support through the Fund for Continuing Scholarship described in Article XIV.G (Pages 236-238) of the MSCA/BHE Agreement) (Contact Academic Affairs)

Summer Research and Creative Activity Grants
Summer Research and Creative Activities Grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded to faculty each year for expenses related to research or creative activities that will result in publication, presentation at a major professional conference, performance, display, or government contract.
Research and Creative Activities Mini-grants
Research and Creative Activities Mini-grants provide amounts up to $1,000 to support research and creative activities. There will be four review and funding cycles over the course of the year. Eligible expenses include such items as book subventions, page charges and other costs associated with publishing; travel to collections or to present research.
