Linda S. Jones, Ed.D.
Linda Jones is the director of Counseling & Health Services.  A licensed psychologist,  she earned a doctorate in counseling psychology from Boston University. Her areas of interest include life transitions, depression, anxiety, bereavement, women's issues, gay/lesbian issues, and sexual assault.

Elisa Castillo, Ph.D.
Elisa Castillo is a licensed psychologist and director of training here at Counseling & Health Services. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, and a master's degree and doctorate in counseling psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. For the past four years, she has been working in the area of mental health, with a special interest in multicultural counseling and clinical supervision. She enjoys helping students reach their goals by finding a healthy balance in their lives. She is experienced in working with students who are struggling with depression and anxiety, relational concerns, identity exploration, issues of students of color in higher education and trauma. She provides services in both English and Spanish.

Karen Hruska, M.A., LMHC
Karen Hruska is the Coordinator of the ADEPT program. She specializes in substance abuse counseling, health and wellness psychology, relationship issues and helping students transform stuck behaviors. She is known for her energy and enthusiasm in helping students set and achieve their goals. Having taught at the college level for years, she understands what it takes to be successful in and out of the classroom. Along with individual counseling, she does presentations for classes or student groups.

Kimberly Daly, BSN, MSN, FNP
Kim Daly, a health services coordinator, is a family nurse practitioner and assistant director of Counseling & Health Services. She received a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Rhode Island, Kingston and earned a master's degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She has worked in internal medicine, pediatrics, and at a high school-based health clinic. Her interests lie in working with adolescent and young adult populations to promote responsible choices and healthy lifestyles.

Joan Sweeney, MSN, FNP  
Joan Sweeney is a nurse practitioner in Health Services. She also coordinates the immunization compliance program. She joined Counseling & Health Services in Fall 2004 after working in a community health setting. She attended the University of Southern Maine where she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and later completed a master degree in family and community health nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Her professional interest is women's health.

John Beaulieu, M.D.
John Beaulieu is the supervising physician of Health Services. He attended Salem State and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He has worked here since 1990, and his professional specialty is internal medicine.

Margaret Muise, RN  
Peggy Muise is the staff nurse in Health Services. She attended the Salem Hospital School of Nursing and is certified in college health. She has worked at Salem State since 1986, and her specialization is college health.
 
Lynne Gunter-Silva
Lynne Gunter-Silva is one of Counseling & Health Services' administrative assistants. She has worked at Salem State since 1975, first in the Affirmative Action/ Personnel office and has been with  Counseling & Health Services since 1983. She earned an associate's degree in secretarial sciences from North Shore Community College and additional certificates from Salem State and North Shore, and is particularly interested in providing excellent customer service to our students.

Juliet Carty
Juliet Carty is an administrative assistant for Counseling & Health Services, and has been with the College over the last three years. She came to us with a background in office support from her experience at a community health center.  As one of our administrative assistants, Juliet coordinates patient intake and assists with the daily operations of a busy healthcare facility, handling confidential patient health information with sensitivity and care. Juliet is working towards completing the certificate program for Graphic Design at Salem State College.

Jessica Stahl, PhD
Jessica Stahl is a postdoctoral fellow at Counseling & Health Services for 2008 - 2009. She earned a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park after completing her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Minnesota's Counseling & Consulting Services. She has worked in a variety of college counseling settings, where she has provided students with a mix of personal, career, and academic counseling. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, women's issues, LGBT concerns, grief/loss, relationship struggles, and college adjustment. In addition, she enjoys supervising, teaching, and providing psychotherapy for counselors-in-training. Dr. Stahl believes that all her clients possess resources for self-healing and seeks to help them identify and activate those resources by providing a supportive, collaborative relationship.

Lesley Fields, M.A.
Lesley Fields is a Counseling & Health Services intern for 2009 - 2010. She is earning a Psy.D. in clinical psychology, attending the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. 


Meagan Leduc, M.A., Ed.M.
Meagan Leduc is a counseling intern for 2009 - 2010.  She is pursuing a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology.
