APA and MSCA Dental Insurance
Full-Time Faculty and Librarian (MSCA union) and APA Administrators (Classified and Profession)
If you are an APA administrator, an MSCA full-time faculty member or librarian, your dental carrier is MetLife and your MetLife Group # is 93994. You may visit metlife.com/mybenefits for more information about this dental plan. Remember to insert BHE (Board of Higher Education) when asked for the company name. You will need to register at the MetLife website in order to view your dental benefits. New Hires: dental and a vision discount program become effective after six full months of employment (on the first day of the following month). Employees can go to any dentist whether the dentist is part of the MetLife dental network or not. Using a MetLife Preferred dentist will save you money, however. To locate a MetLife Preferred Dentist in your area you can call 800.474.7371. There is no premium cost to the employee for this insurance as it is part of their Union Trust Agreement. The annual maximum benefit is $1,000 of combined in-network and out-of-network covered dental expenses per individual. You will save 10 to 60 percent on frames, lenses, contact lenses, and eye care accessories. Additionally you'll save $5-10 on eye examinations when you visit one of the preferred providers. Status Changes/Student Coverage:
