Rules & Regulations
- No person will be admitted to the Wellness center until they have completed the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire and Program Orientation.
- A valid SSU ID must be shown each time you enter the Wellness Center. (SORRY NO EXCEPTIONS)
- No food or drink allowed in the Wellness Center other than water bottles. (NO GUM)
- Please use the lockers located on the 1st floor of the O’Keefe Center or the available lockers located outside the Wellness Center. Members must provide their own locks.
- Personal items will not be allowed in the Center (i.e. Gym bags, pocketbooks, additional clothing, etc.) We are not responsible for lost items.
- Proper exercise attire must be worn at all times (clean gym shorts, T-shirt, socks, and athletic footwear). Members wearing offensive clothing will be asked to leave.
- No jeans allowed.
- Any rashes, skin irritations or open wounds should be covered at all times; admittance to the Wellness Center will be at the discretion of the manager on duty.
- Please be considerate of others and wipe off any perspiration on the machines, benches or tables when you are finished. Please spray paper towel and wipe. Do not spray directly onto machines.
- Dumbbells and plates are not allowed on the floor or benches and must be returned to their proper place on the rack after each use. Please do not throw them on the floor.
- Do not allow the plates on the machines to slam against other plates. Keeping tension on the working muscles while performing an exercise increases the efficiency of your workout and lessens the chance of the plates slamming against one another.
- Loud and/or abusive language, including unnecessary noise while lifting, will not be tolerated.
- If you plan to do more than one set on the benches or machines, make sure you allow others to work in their set. Exit machine after each use. This includes use of the Smith machine and Cable-Crossover machine.
- All cardiovascular equipment has a maximum time of 30 minutes.
- No not use equipment if you do not understand its use. Please ask one of the staff to help you.
- Only audio equipment with a headset may be used.
- Cell phone use, including texting, is not permitted in the center. Emergency calls may be directed to our receptionist at 978.542.6551.
- Please do not remove equipment from original place. (Benches, etc.)
- The Wellness Center staff reserves the right to stop any program you are working on if they feel it is unsafe or inappropriate for you to continue.
- Violation of these rules may result in membership suspension or termination.
