Salem State University employees, their spouses and children who meet eligibility requirements are entitled to tuition waiver/remission. Full or partial tuition remission is applicable to state supported and non-state supported programs at Massachusetts state and community colleges and universities (except the University of Massachusetts Medical Center at Worcester.) Full or partial tuition waivers are applicable at state supported and non-state supported programs at state colleges. Some categories of employees may also get waivers at community colleges and universities. You may review the Tuition Remission Policy or if you need information on tuition waivers or would like a tuition remission form mailed to you, you may email your request to Pat Hanson (email@example.com). These forms are not available online, but can be picked up in human resources or will be mailed to you.
AFSCME Union Employees who wish to exercise their contractual right to take courses at Salem State University without paying fees (Article 25 Section 1, Subsection A 3, e) should ask human resources and equal opportunity for the AFSCME tuition remission and fee waiver certificate. This form must be completed and must accompany your registration form that will not be processed without it. For AFSCME employees this form will replace the Certificate for Eligibility for System Wide Remission for Higher Education Employees. This applies to AFSCME employees who are enrolling in courses at Salem State for themselves. It does not apply to their spouses or dependent children. There is a separate form for tuition remission for spouses or dependent children. Employees exercising this right will be subject to 'Space Available Registration'.
