Scott Estes, Graduate student in Spanish
Graduate student Scott Estes promotes foreign language teaching and learning. While a student in Salem State's Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish program, he served as an advocacy intern for the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association in 2008. As part of that internship, he wrote articles for local and state newspapers about the importance of foreign languages at all levels of schooling. He also distributed promotional materials and information to teachers attending the MaFLA conference in October 2008 about how to advocate for foreign language education in their schools. Scott completed his master’s degree in 2009, and will be teaching Spanish at a high school in western Massachusetts.
