Getting Connected Checklist

Welcome! We are excited to have you join us at Salem State University. This checklist will help faculty easily navigate the roads leading to new accounts and access to the systems you will need at the university. You can also check the new faculty website at salemstate.edu/new2technology.

This list needs to be completed in the order listed to successfully activate these accounts.

1.      Access to university systems like learning management systems, email and the student information system, are typically provided after the new employee visits human resources. Is your information entered into the necessary systems such PeopleSoft and EMS? Once information is entered and approved, it takes 24 hours to create the accounts.

 2.      Activate your SSU Login:

Using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, go to navigator.salemstate.edu.The SSU login provides user access to email, navigator (student and classroom information), wireless network, SSCAD network and some elearning systems. The user id is your first initial and up to the first 14 characters of your last name. The default password is the first two initials of your first name, first two initials of your last name and the last four digits of your social security number. You will be asked to change this password . Look at the password icon at navigator.salemstate.edu to see the password requirements.
