Email for Staff and Faculty

Whether you want to connect with members of the Salem State community online or schedule a meeting in the "real world," you do it with Microsoft Exchange.

Exchange is an integrated email, calendar, contacts and task management system. Exchange is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems, and it's also accessible through Outlook Web Apps (OWA), a web based platform. 

Once you've set your Salem State password, access to Exchange email/calendar is automatic.

If you're a PC...
You can access Exchange with Outlook 2007/2010 and Outlook Web Apps.

If you're a Mac...
You can access Exchange with Outlook 2011, Mac Mail/iCal, and Outlook Web Apps

If you're using a mobile device...
We recommend devices with Active Sync, like Androids, iPhones, and BlackBerrys.

By default, the Salem State email addresses assigned to faculty and staff use the convention of firstintiallastname@salemstate.edu. Faculty and staff may request an alias for their default email address. For instance, if the default email address is iuser@salemstate.edu, an alias such as iama.user@salemstate.edu if the requested alias is available, (the SSU login user ID would not change). To request an email address alias, contact the IT Helpdesk.
