150th Celebration Opening Gala
On Friday evening, September 12, 2003, the College kicked off its Sesquicentennial celebrations with a black-tie event at the newly renovated Peabody Essex Museum in downtown Salem.
Groundbreaking Ceremony for Central Campus Residence Hall
On Monday, September 22, 2003, ground was broken for the College's new residence hall on Central Campus.
Central Campus Opening Ceremony
On Thursday, October 16, 2003, Salem State College's new School of Business facility was opened in the the former GTE/Sylvania plant. It was just the beginning of the renaissance taking place on Central Campus.
"Course Work"
In November, 2003, Professor William Cunningham of the Theatre & Speech Communication Department premiered an original work in honor of the 150th anniversary of Salem State College.
Celebration of the Arts & Sciences: Past, Present and Future
During the course of a full day of activities highlighting the arts and sciences at Salem State College on Wednesday, February 4, participants followed the College's expansion of its arts and science offerings from the mid-1800s through the present.

150th Celebration Closing Gala
On Saturday, October 16, 2004, the College closed out its Sesquicentennial year with a Black-Tie Affair at the Sheraton Ferncroft in Danvers. The event was attended by 500 alumni, staff, friends and corporate associates of the College. Throughout the past year, $1 million was raised in private donations to build a Center for the Creative and Performing Arts.
