On September 12, 2003, Salem State College kicked off its Sesquicentennial year with a gala evening at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. Before the year ended with a closing, black-tie, gala on October 16, 2004, at the Sheraton Ferncroft, the College found numerous ways to celebrate this momentous occasion in its history. It's not every year, after all, that a college or university reaches 150 years old, nor can every institution look back upon a legacy so rich in so many ways.

For those of you who were unable to join us for the actual events, we've provided a recap on the Event pages. For those alumni, staff and friends of the College who were able to join us, perhaps you'll find yourselves in some of the pages that follow.

To everyone who has had a part in creating, supporting and maintaining the rich mosaic that has become Salem State College ---- a heartfelt 'thank you!'
