Faculty and Staff Commencement Information

The School of Graduate Studies commencement ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 4 pm. 

On Saturday, May 18, 2013, the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education ceremony is scheduled for 3 pm and the College of Health and Human Services and the Bertolon School of Business commencement ceremony will take place at 10 am.

Important commencement news! Please note that the order of our undergraduate commencement ceremonies has changed. On Saturday, May 18, the College of Health and Human Services and Bertolon School of Business ceremony will take place at 10 am, and our College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education ceremony will take place at 3 pm.

All commencement exercises take place in the O’Keefe Sports Center, 225 Canal Street, Salem.

Rehearsal
Rehearsal for staff is scheduled for Thursday, May 16 at 10 am in the Rockett Arena in the O’Keefe Sports Center. This will be the only rehearsal and all staff scheduled to work a ceremony should be present.

Entering the O’Keefe Center
All faculty and staff will be required to enter the O’Keefe Sports Center by the Broadway entrance. Faculty or staff who attempt to enter the building at any other point will be instructed to enter via the Broadway entrance. Only those individuals assigned to work and faculty who indicated their intent to attend, by completing the 2013 commencement attendance survey will be admitted to the facility. Please note there will be no exceptions.

Reporting Time
Staff scheduled to work the graduate ceremony on Thursday should report to the O’Keefe Sports Center by 2 pm. Faculty attending this ceremony should report by 3:30 pm.

Staff scheduled to work the College of Health and Human Services and the Bertolon School of Business ceremony at 10 am on Saturday should report to the O’Keefe Sports Center by 7:30 am. Faculty attending this ceremony should report by 9:30 am.

Staff scheduled to work the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education ceremony at 3 pm on Saturday should report to the O’Keefe Sports Center by 1 pm. Faculty attending this ceremony should report by 2:30 pm.

Faculty who are attending both ceremonies on Saturday should plan to exit the O’Keefe Sports Center following the morning ceremony and should return for the afternoon ceremony by 2:30 pm.  

Parking and Transportation to the O’Keefe Sports Center
Faculty and staff should park at Central Campus or Lot A on North Campus and may either walk or take the shuttle to the O’Keefe Sports Center. Shuttle busses will not be available for the School of Graduate Studies ceremony on Thursday.

Regalia
Please remember to order your regalia from the bookstore, if needed. Complete this form and return it with your payment to the bookstore by Wednesday, May 1 to place your order.
