Fall 2014 Transfer Orientation: The Next Step Program
All new day transfer students are required to attend the Next Step program where you’ll be able to meet with a faculty advisor and register for classes. As a transfer student, we appreciate that you may have already attended an orientation program before. We understand that your needs are likely different now. That’s why we’ve developed The Next Step program for our new transfer students, to make sure that you’re not only knowledgeable about college but that you’re also savvy about Salem State. For transfer students, The Next Step is the time to review your transfer credits with an advisor in your major and to register for classes. The Next Step programs are half-day events with an 8 am or 11 am check-in time. Because every activity is important, you should attend the entire session. The morning program will conclude approximately between 1-2 pm. The afternoon session will end approximately between 4-5 pm.
Students are able to choose the session they would like to attend by signing up via Navigator. Sign up will begin on Monday, March 3, 2014. Confirmations will be sent approximately one week prior to the session you choose.
Navigator is your personal Salem State homepage and allows access to many of the Web-based resources. To log into Navigator for the first time: go to navigator.salemstate.edu and follow the “What’s My User ID?” and “What’s My Password?” links to retrieve your login information.
The Next Step session dates are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The earlier you sign up, the greater your chance of getting your top choice!
